Electric Brew Pot / Electric Still Boil Controllers

Our boil controllers are designed to do one thing well – to manage the boil part of your brew process or manage the heat applied to your still pot.

Our Electric Brew Pot / Still Boil controllers feature

A compact all aluminum housing with 4 mounting holes and large heat sink to dissipate excess heat. We never, ever use unsafe plastic housings for our brewery controller products.
A twist right to turn on / press to turn off power button that also serves as an emergency off switch.
An easy to set and use boil control knob with a graduated 0 – 13 scale. Works better than fiddling with with a PID to set your boil. When faced with a boil over it’s easy to just reach over and turn down the heat a little with our boil controllers.
Available in 220/240V or 120V versions.
The 120V versions feature a 8 foot power plug and your choice of standard 2 prong outlet or a 30 Amp L5-20r twist lock receptacle designed for a L5-20p twist lock plug used by 120V Blichmann products and other builders of 30 Amp 120V mash or boil control type components.
The 220/240V versions feature a 10 Gauge SJOOW 12 foot power cord with a 3 or 4 prong dryer style power plug.
The 220/240V versions also feature a 30 Amp L6-30r twist lock receptacle designed for a L6-30p twist lock plug used by most 240V home brew boil pots and home stills.
All of our controllers are tested with GFCI and are GFCI compatible.
The safety ground wire that runs from the outlet all the way to the plug is also bonded to the aluminum housing for safety.
All of our controllers are 100% manufactured in the USA with a mix of US, Chinese and Canadian components.

Specifications and Installation Recommendations:

120V
Standard

Our standard 120V boil controllers are designed to be plugged directly into a modern 120V kitchen outlet and these controllers will work well as long as nothing else on the same circuit, like a coffee pot etc.. is turned on at the same time. These controllers can safely power a heating element up to 2400 Watts on newer kitchens with 20 Amp circuits but we recommend you limit your element selection to 1800 Watts or less in older kitchens with 15 Amp breakers.

 120V
Twist Lock
Our 120V twist lock boil controllers are designed to be plugged into a 120V outlet supplying as much as 30 Amps. A separate 30 Amp GFCI protected circuit should be run to supply this controller with power if you intend to use its full potential. These controllers can safely power a heating element up to 3600 Watts on a 30 Amp circuit but you can also use the controller for a lower wattage element.

 120V
GFCI
Our 120V GFCI boil controllers have wired on GFCI plugs and are designed to be plugged directly into a modern 120V kitchen outlet and these controllers will work well as long as nothing else on the same circuit, like a coffee pot etc.. is turned on at the same time. These controllers can safely power a heating element up to 1800 Watts because the GFCI plug has a 15 Amp limit.

220/240V
3 Prong
Because we understand that most homebrewers going electric start with a dryer outlet, our standard 220/240V boil controllers are built with 3 prong dryer plugs to be compatible with the dryer outlets in most older homes. But like all of our other controllers, these are 100% tested behind GFCI breakers and are 100% GFCI compliant even though they are only 3 wire. And because we don’t need neutral for 120V inside the controller the fourth neutral wire is missing. We highly recommend running a dedicated GFCI protected 30 Amp circuit for your brew area. And even though this controller is three wire, NEC Code in most areas will require you to run 4 wires to a sub panel and one of the best choices on the market is a SPA panel.

220/240V
4 Prong
Our 220/240V 4 Prong boil controllers are identical to our 3 prong controllers but they are built and tested with 4 prong dryer plugs to be compatible with newer dryer outlets.
